In the mid 1980s God began restoring the office of the prophet back into its rightful and proper place of function in the Church that Jesus is building. Today, thousands of churches and ministers accept and themselves advocate this premise. But is there such a thing as “judgment prophets” today in the New Testament era. Even within Charismatic and Neo-Pentecostal churches espousing the validity of the prophetic and apostolic offices in today’s ecclesia, the issue of the prospect of judgment prophets being anointed, appointed, and sent by God with a special message from Him and equipped with supernatural powers such as what Moses was given by God produces sharp and sometime contentiousness debate. So, do judgment prophets exist today? Here’s one perspective. (more…)
“The Glory of the Latter House shall be greater than the Former!” (Hag. 2:9)
The hour we live in without equivocation is the most spiritually profound of all of history, and certainly of all “His-story.” Indeed, it can be no less when we are told that all of the historical Biblical events comprising His-story—i.e., the history of Israel—“happened to the them as an example (illustration) and they were written for OUR instruction upon whom the ends of the ages have come” (1 Cor. 10:11; cf., Rom. 15:4). God is therein declaring that the entire content of the Old Testament—the events it chronicles and the wisdom and instruction those events illustrate—are and always were intended for the true end-time believers comprising the end-times Church that Jesus is building! Among the things this earthen vessel hears the Lord Jesus Christ saying in 2009 to the Remnant Church He is building is:
“The ‘former things’ have come to pass, and indeed have now passed. This is necessary in order that ‘new things’ be ushered into your individual and collective lives. Whirlwinds of wholesale, seemingly radical change are now whirling. Everything is being shaken, in order that the things that remain be only authentic Kingdom things. The new things that are coming and have come are a passageway of promotion unto a higher dimension of the Spirit into which I am leading you. The challenges before you demand that you walk in a higher dimension of the Spirit in order to meet and resolve them. So also the trials, troubles, and tribulations ahead shall drive you deeper into the Kingdom and require you to walk in greater comportment with the Order of the Kingdom of Heaven in order to overcome them. There is an order and structure of the Kingdom you must begin to apprehend, comprehend, and implement through intense personal prayer. Ask of Me and it shall be given unto you. Seek Me and you shall find Me. Knock and the Door unto this new and higher dimension of the Kingdom shall be opened unto you. Remember, I AM the Door! As you seek ME in greater intensity and intimacy than ever before, you shall find Me in this hour. Draw nearer to Me and I will draw nearer to you. What I speak to you will be whispered in your ear as of a still, small voice, so you must draw nearer to Me in greater intimacy as did John who laid His head upon my breast to not only hear with his ears but to feel the reverberation of My Words and Heartbeat. Many shall begin to hear anew and get in sync with my very Heartbeat this year as you dine with Me in greater intimacy of the Spirit. It is then incumbent upon you to ‘Shout from the housetops’ what you hear whispered in your ear and what reverberates in your heart!”
Earthly life entails few constants. Indeed, the only constant in life is change, someone once observed. Change is inevitable and certain. When it comes, our attitude regarding it determines whether it comes as friend or foe. Of all that 2009 holds, it promises to be a Year of Change!
For a number of years now, for what it’s worth, I have published at the beginning of each year my sense of what God is saying to me concerning the new year. I always compose my article before reading the commentaries of other prophets, prognosticators, and pundits to avoid being influenced by them. I do my best to hear what God is saying. Prior to the close of 2008 I posted some articles reflecting what I heard God saying regarding some of the events and circumstances transpiring at that time and their prospective impact upon our collective future. The theme of one of those posts was God’s Plan for the Global Economic Collapse of 2008, which I invite you to read if you have not already. Though I indicated in that article that I believed God indeed did have a plan for the economic collapse which would involve the manifestation of His purposes, I also indicated that I was not delineating in that article the particulars of what He was showing me regarding His Plan. I will be writing what He allows me to write about those particulars in forthcoming posts. However, the upshot of all that God is showing me in that regard is that this new year of 2009 promises to be a year in which the Lord initiates significant change — paradigmatic change — in mindsets, methodologies, and ministrations, both in the world and in the Church Jesus is building. The question will be who will have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church and give heed to — i.e., flow and grow with — what they are hearing, for it is not the hearers of God’s Word who are justified (aligned and allied), but rather the doers. This edition is Part 2 of a series regarding the new things God is decreeing for the days ahead. I believe the topic of this series is both prophetic and timely, in that God is right now is decreeing and effecting major and in some cases paradigmatic changes both in the world and the church, and is causing particular events to transpire that have never happened before; i.e., “new things.” God is “suddenly” releasing and launching much that has been held in abeyance for many years. He is also bringing a sudden end to much that has been for a many years as well.
Isaiah 42:9
Behold, the former things have come to pass,
Now I declare new things;
Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you.
Isaiah 43:18,19
Do not call to mind the former things,
Or ponder things of the past.
Behold, I will do something new,
Now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it?
I will even make a roadway in the wilderness,
Rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 48:6-8
I proclaim to you new things from this time,
Even hidden things which you have not known.
They are created now and not long ago;
And before today you have not heard them,
So that you will not say, ‘Behold, I knew them.’
You have not heard, you have not known.
One of the tribes of Israel, the sons of Issachar, were “men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do” (1 Chrn. 12:32). Prophets are spiritual “sons of Issachar.” The spiritual inheritance of that tribe is alive within them. They have a special anointing for discerning the times and knowing when God is bringing forth new things, new paradigms, and bringing the Church into new dimensions of the Spirit.
Because they are discerners of these things, they frequently “see” things before others do, including other leaders. Also because they see and discern things before others do, there is a pioneering aspect to the personality and gifting of prophets. They are also predictive, rather than reactive, vis-à-vis most other people. Most people believe it when they see it. Prophets believe it before other people see it, because they’ve already seen it and its outcome in the Spirit. Prophets are still “seers.” They perceive things in the Spirit realm others do not, at least not yet. They specialize in revealing the “secret counsel” of God in His timing. (more…)
In 2004, as I was traveling down I-95 and praying, I began experiencing an open vision in which I saw large plumes of fire suddenly erupt, here and there, along the east coast of the state of Florida. Then, I seemed to be taken above the state and was seeing it from an aerial view. Soon, it seemed like large sections of the state along the east coast were on fire, from Jacksonville to Miami.
Then, as I passed through several main junctures along I-95, I saw the state of Florida as if from tens of thousands of feet up and was looking down on the entire state, and I saw seven “hot spots” where the Spirit had ignited “fires of revival” at different times in different regions of Florida during past eras ranging from the 1950s to the 1990s. In each of those regions where revival fires had broken out sometime in the past that He showed me, the face of a man would rise up out of the fire in a particular region whom God had sent to those regions and used either to spark a fire or to decree things that would come to pass at an appointed, future time. Some I knew, some I did not.
In each case the move that these men were used by God to initiate was prematurely foiled and spoiled. He showed me a very stark overview of the scheme the enemy used to bring cessation of the work God had started through those men. Each of them met with supernatural adversity and affliction, suffering tragic events and circumstances, and experiencing severe brokenness and brokenheartedness that waylayed their attempts to complete the calling. In each case, “a great price” (I heard in the Spirit) was paid as a result of merely obeying God’s calling. Some had actually experienced spiritual and emotional breakdowns rising out of the frustrations and opposition they experienced, mostly from a resistant Church.
Each had been given a prophetic vision and mission, what was really a “mission impossible” in that each had been speaking of things and calling for changes that were “far ahead of their time,” relative to the spiritual status quo and understanding of their peers while they were here laboring. In each case, it was the “spiritual separation” of these people from the rest of the Body of Christ, “because of the surpassing greatness of the revelation,” that these men suffered what they did. Because the Body did not understand them or their message, the Body failed to surround and support them in the Spirit. They were spiritual “amputees” that the Body rejected, saying, “I have no need of thee.” (more…)

A New Movement of Fearless Uncompromising Preachers
God is raising up a new breed of preachers in our day. People are sick of modern-day soft preaching that does not move our consciences anymore then a worldly movie would. God is going to raise them up, they will not be bred in modern day seminaries or bible colleges. They will speak against the whole system that is raising anemic preachers and teachers. Their messages will be bold, strong, pointed; it will offend many but save many. Their preaching will bear witness to their calling. God will be in their messages and the fear of God will come with their message. God has always been faithful to have a voice in every generation. Surely we find ourselves in a time as the Psalmist lamented: “There is no more any prophet, neither is there among us, any that knoweth how long.” Yet they will come! They will come with messages that will sear our consciences, Oh how we need a modern day prophet!
Will the modern day prophet agree with all the theology and comfort of American Christianity? No, his message will so contradict all of what we know of Christianity that we will hardly believe he is from God. Jeremiah was a prophet that heard from God and he prophesied: “behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.” These new breed of preachers will be men that are shut-in with God and hear from him and their words will be as “fire” and the people “wood.” (more…)
(This post is the second part of the series, God Is Declaring New Things! )
Isaiah 42:9
Behold, the former things have come to pass,
Now I declare new things;
Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you.Isaiah 43:18,19
Do not call to mind the former things,
Or ponder things of the past.
Behold, I will do something new,
Now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it?
I will even make a roadway in the wilderness,
Rivers in the desert.
There are two vital truths we need to extract from these passages of Scripture regarding “the former things.” The first and most obvious is that the things that used to be, “the things of the past,” are now completed and are now passed. That is to say, they are history. In speaking of someone who has died, we use the euphemism that they “passed away.” That is precisely how God wants us to regard the modus operandi, or ways of operating or doing things, that are of the past — as “the former things” — particularly at those junctures when He begins announcing, “Now I declare new things! Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth!” And this can apply either to individual believers or the collective church. God is at those times acting as a spiritual attending physician, pronouncing “the former things” dead, deceased. Yet, at the same time He is also acting as a spiritual obstetrician, delivering the newborn, “the new thing” that God is birthing, which will replace the former or passe’ thing. (more…)
